¿Qué artista eres tú?
La elección es el problema, apostar por un solo camino y defenderlo hasta el final.
Pero de forma totalmente excluyente del resto.
¿Es malo o bueno esto?, el peligro está en que pudiera hacernos miopes solo creer en nuestra visión artística, menospreciando a las otras, solo para autodefinirnos.
Veo una exigencia de un grupo en favor de un solo modo, con ansias de actualidad y enemorados de lo nuevo; lo cual yo no acepto, en firme defensa del artesano que se realiza en la intimidad serena de su espacio, en la soledad silenciosa de su estudio, sin sentir necesidades mediáticas de espectacularidades teatrales. No.
Recuerdo tantos compañeros llenos de expresión poderosamente silenciosa y en estos años de docente he visto a muchos artistas en formación, de un carácter gris, delicados en su hablar, que no gritan núnca, por que hablan mas por sus trabajos; y pienso en ellos al escribir estas lineas. Trato de validarlos en el presente aunque otros ya no les entiendan.
Creo que cuanto mas elevado el tema y refinada la materia de la obra, se expresa clarísimamente la cultura y la tecnología del ser humano.
Diseñando talismanes que enriquecen la vida, que alivian el dolor y nos hacen sentir mas inteligentes y mas fuertes.
Yo soy artesano y tú.

What artist are you?
The choice is the problem, bet on a single path and defend it to the end.
But totally exclusive of the rest.
Is this good or bad? The danger is that it could make us myopic just believing in our artistic vision, belittling the others, just to define ourselves.
I see a demand from a group in favor of a single mode, eager for the present and in love with the new; which I do not accept, in firm defense of the craftsman who is carried out in the serene intimacy of his space, in the silent solitude of his studio, without feeling the media need for theatrical spectacles. No.
I remember so many colleagues full of powerfully silent expression and in these years as a teacher I have seen many artists in training, with a gray character, delicate in their speech, who never shout, because they speak more for their work; and I think of them when writing these lines. I try to validate them in the present even if others no longer understand them.
I believe that the higher the theme and the more refined the material of the work, the more clearly the culture and technology of the human being is expressed.
Designing talismans that enrich life, relieve pain and make us feel smarter and stronger.
I am a craftsman and you.
